Srinagar, Apr 02 (KNO): Chairperson of the Jammu & Kashmir Waqf Board, Dr Syed Darakhshan Andrabi, on Thursday participated in the annual Zool Festival at the shrine of Sakhi Zainuddin Reshi (RA) in Aishmuqam, Pahalgam, on the eve of the saint’s Urs.
According to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), she joined thousands of devotees, offered prayers for peace and prosperity, and stressed the enduring significance of the centuries-old tradition.
The Zool Festival is organized annually as an auspicious event commemorating this long-standing tradition. Dr Andrabi paid obeisance at the shrine and prayed for the well-being of all.
Speaking on the occasion, she said that light symbolizes purity and devotion, which dispels the darkness of the soul, and emphasized that such meaningful traditions should continue with fervor and dignity.
She also conveyed her greetings to the people on the occasion of Urs Mubarak. Executive Magistrate of the Board Ishtiyaq Mohiuddin, Administrator Ashiq Ahmad, Executive Engineer Qazi Mushtaq, AEEs Syed Murtaza and Aamir Ahmad, and renowned social activists Arshad Bhat, Rehmat Bhat, Javed Ahmad, Sofi Sajad, and Tassaduq Ahmad accompanied the Waqf Chairperson—(KNO)
